1

Upload once. Or forward your bill email.

Drop the PDF — or set up a forwarding rule from your carrier email to Fairtabs. From then on, we parse every month automatically.

2

Per-line split in 30 seconds.

Each phone number gets its own row with the exact amount the carrier charged. Taxes and fees auto-allocate proportionally. One tap saves the split.

3

Family rides free.

Members get a text with their share and a link to settle via Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal. They sign up free; only you (the uploader) need Plus.

4

Next month's bill imports itself.

The recurring template applies the same split mapping. If a line drifts more than $10 — international roaming, an installment kicking in — we ping you to review before saving.

Step 1 of 4

Drop your bill.
Or email it in.

Two paths. Drag the PDF you downloaded from att.com/billing into Fairtabs, or set up a one-time email forwarding rule so every month's bill lands at your dedicated inbox automatically.

  • PDF, JPEG, PNG, or HEIC — even an iPhone screenshot
  • 10MB cap, fits 99% of postpaid bills
  • Your dedicated email inbox is unique to you — no other Fairtabs user can read what lands there

Step 2 of 4

Every line. Every fee.
Down to the cent.

The carrier bill is itemized per phone number — plan fee, device installment, line access, add-ons, international, taxes. Fairtabs extracts every row, matches each phone to a Fairtabs profile, and auto-allocates the shared taxes proportionally.

  • Reconciles to the bill total within a penny
  • Tax & fee variance auto-allocated by line share
  • Flags any line that drifted >$10 from last month
  • Skips lines you've already settled separately

Family rides free.
No app required.

For each line that's not yet on Fairtabs, we text a magic link. Tap → see the amount → pay via Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal. They sign up free, and next month's import resolves them automatically — no re-invite.

  • Only the uploader needs Plus ($1.99/mo)
  • Co-members get every Fairtabs free-tier benefit
  • SMS is one-shot — no spam, no follow-ups, no dark patterns
  • If they decline, you assign manually and we never text that number again

Step 4 of 4

Set it once.
Forget it forever.

After the first import, Group Plans runs on its own. Next month's bill arrives at your dedicated email inbox; Fairtabs parses, matches every line to last month's mapping, and pushes a notification when it's ready to review.

  • Zero-touch on stable months
  • Push notification when a line drifts past your threshold
  • Settle-up reminders auto-send if a co-member forgets to pay
  • End-of-year summary: who owed what, who paid, who's been carrying the household

FAQ

Common questions.

Which carriers work right now?
AT&T family bills are live. Drop a PDF at app.fairtabs.com/import and we'll auto-split the latest cycle line-by-line. T-Mobile and Verizon are next in the sprint — Plus members will see them appear in /import the moment the parsers are ready.
Why do you need my phone number?
Your phone number is the join key between a line on your carrier bill and your Fairtabs profile. We never store it in plaintext anywhere else — only a one-way SHA-256 hash, used to match a bill line to a person. Other users see (***) ***-8265, never your real number.
Do my family members need to pay $1.99/mo too?
No. Only the uploader — the person who actually pays the carrier bill — needs Fairtabs Plus. Everyone else on the plan signs up free, sees their share, and settles via Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal. We make money from one subscriber per household; the rest ride free.
Is my bill data private?
Yes. Bills are encrypted at rest on Supabase. Only you can see the full per-line breakdown; co-members only see their own line. We never sell, share, or model on your billing data, and we never log into your carrier on your behalf — you upload (or email-forward), we parse, that's it.
What if my carrier isn't on the list?
AT&T is live at launch, T-Mobile and Verizon arrive in the following sprint. Cricket, Google Fi, US Cellular, Xfinity Mobile, and Spectrum Mobile are on the V2 roadmap. Email hello@fairtabs.com with your carrier and we'll prioritize.
What about AT&T's own SplitPay feature?
SplitPay is AT&T-only, doesn't work if you autopay by credit card, and the account owner still gets dinged if a co-member misses payment. Fairtabs works across every carrier, supports any payment rail, and the settlement happens on Venmo/Zelle/PayPal where your family already pays each other.
Will this work for more than phone bills?
That's V2 — same parser architecture, applied to utility, internet, and streaming bills. Phone bills are the wedge because they're the most painful to itemize manually. If you have a specific bill you'd love to see supported, tell us when you sign up.
